BYRON MICHAEL PURCELL was born on September 4, 1968 in Los Angeles, California. He became an associate with Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt in June of 1995. He previously worked as a law clerk with the firm from September 1994 until he became an associate. In 2001, Mr. Purcell became a partner with Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt.Mr. Purcell received his undergraduate Degree in Political Science from University of Southern California in 1991. During his undergraduate career, he became a Merit Scholar, a recipient of U.S.C.’s Achievement Scholarship and Dean’s Scholarship. In 1991, he became a fellow of the Counsel on Legal Educational Opportunity (CLEO).

Mr. Purcell received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas in 1994. He was a member of the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society and he was the Regional Champion of the Frederick Douglas Moot Court competition for 1993-1994.

Mr. Purcell was admitted to the United States Bar of California in 1995. He has also been admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Central District of California. Before becoming an Associate at Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt, and Mr. Purcell clerked with the Federal Defender’s of San Diego, Inc. Mr. Purcell’s areas of practice include civil litigation and white collar criminal defense.

Mr. Purcell has extensive litigation experience and he has successfully tried dozens of cases. His litigation experience extends to Commercial Litigation, Products Liability, Personal Injury defense, and Real Estate. Mr. Purcell has represented clients involved in contractual disputes, complex business matters, commercial and real estate claims, insurance, equipment failures, fires, explosions, and automobile accidents.
