For the last 74 years, Ivie McNeill & Wyatt has made a name for itself representing clients the firm believes have historically not been well represented in the law and was profiled by Daily Journal discussing its legacy and growth.
Established in 1943, Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt has become well known by the judges of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, and now boast five judges who have joined their ranks. Today, the firm consists of five partners, five of counsel, 10 associates and 22 support staff. The firm doesn’t feel the “need to grow, just for growth’s sake,” according to Partner Rickey Ivie. The office is more focused on “gradual, thoughtful growth.”
Over its 74-year history, the firm has secured significant wins in numerous civil matters, representing public entities such as the County of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Unified School District, Compton Unified School District, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the cities of Los Angeles, Pasadena and Inglewood. One of the firm’s big successes includes the precedent-setting, multimillion-dollar sex discrimination class action against a major insurance provider, which ultimately eliminated pregnancy as a pre-existing condition for insurance coverage.
