Partner Rickey Ivie was a featured guest on the radio show The Empire Talks Back hosted by Wallace Allen, discussing the removal of historical monuments which have led to multiple demonstrations throughout the country. These statues were constructed at the beginning of the Jim Crow segregated south and later as a response to the Civil Rights Movement. They have now become symbols of white supremacy.

“I think the statues need to be removed, not necessarily destroyed, but they need to be removed and placed perhaps in a museum or other place where the full story can be told,” said Ivie. “We can’t have symbols of racism, of hatred being glorified in our public parks and being exposed to our children without the full story being told.”
