Senior Associate Allison Bracy’s $819,651 jury verdict in the case Leanese Brown v. Mohamed Zareem Lameer, M.D. was named among The Recorder’s Top Verdicts & Settlements in California for 2016, and was ranked the third largest medical malpractice award for that year.
Leanese Brown fractured her distal femur, requiring emergency treatment and surgery. During the surgery, Dr. Mohamed Zareem Lameer negligently placed the plate and screws in a way that caused Ms. Brown’s leg to be fixed in an internally rotated position. The ill positioning was noted by numerous medical personnel, but nothing was done to address it. Ms. Brown never regained the ability to walk and subsequently became bedridden as a result thereof.
