Partner Byron Purcell obtained a seven-figure settlement on behalf of an 84-year-old woman who suffered severe brain damage after a pharmacy provided her the incorrect medication.

The plaintiff suffered from high blood pressure and regularly took Cardura to treat her condition. After her dosage was changed in 2016, the plaintiff took a handwritten prescription to the pharmacy’s Inglewood, California location, where she was instead given Coumadin, a high-alert blood thinner. As a result of the pharmacy’s negligence, the plaintiff suffered a severe brain hemorrhage caused by Coumadin’s toxicity, and now requires 24/7 care and medical treatment.
