WENDY Y. WU is an associate in the litigation group of Ivie, McNeill, & Wyatt. She specializes in insurance defense, public entity defense, general litigation, secured transactions, UCC-1 filing, and contract negotiation and litigation. As a litigator, Ms. Wu handles all aspects of litigation including drafting and responding to pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation. She is experienced in researching and preparing pleadings including motions to compel discovery, demurrers, oppositions, complaints, answers, and summary judgment motions.

Ms. Wu received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of British Columbia in 1997.  For several years while enrolled, Ms. Wu received merit scholarships, served as class liaison, as was an academic tutor.  She received her Juris Doctor degree from the Southwestern University School of Law in 2007. While in law school, Ms. Wu participated in the Trial Advocacy Program, was a member of the Southwestern's Law Journal, and worked as a law clerk for the California Division of Occupational Safety & Health Legal Unit.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Wu spent several years in Asia working with international corporations that engaged in importing, exporting, and retail businesses. Known as a strong communicator who speaks and reads Mandarin Chinese fluently and is conversational in Cantonese, Ms. Wu's communication skills enhance her ability to successfully advocate on a wide range of matters for a diverse group of clients.

Before joining Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt, Ms. Wu represented indigent clients in administrative and judicial hearings.  She also worked on occupational safety and health cases to protect workers and the public from safety hazards.  As a California-licensed attorney, Ms. Wu has successfully mediated labor back-pay and waiting time penalty claims, negotiated favorable lease agreements, and settled purchase-sale agreement disputes.  She also has a background in patent and trademark transactions.

Ms. Wu devotes herself to her community in contributing to and volunteering at various organizations and events including the American Red Cross, the Salvation  Army, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, toy drives for Para Los Ninos, and breast cancer walks. Ms. Wu also assisted Southeast Asian Legal Outreach Project and AIDS Legal Assistance Project.
