RICKEY IVIE became a founding partner in the law firm of Ivie and McNeill, Inc. in 1980.
Mr. Ivie has a unique combination of specialized legal and business experience. In addition to his extensive legal practice, Mr. Ivie serves on the faculty of the National Business Institute and regularly leads advanced educational seminars for lawyers as well as other members of the legal profession.
Mr. Ivie has extensive jury trial experience in both Federal and State courts. He has litigation experience in the areas of plaintiff personal injury, personal injury defense (including wrongful death cases), employment law, contract law, real property, copyright and trademark. He also has experience handling domestic and international business transactions, and has been involved in negotiating and preparing joint venture and licensing agreements.

In 1977, Mr. Ivie was admitted to the State Bar of California and the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. After working for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, Mr. Ivie became a member of the law firm of Scarlett and Roberson, Inc.
Representative Matters
Public Transportation Defense : Defends public transit (bus), light rail, and rail companies for the past 25 years in numerous personal injury matters based on claims of negligent operation, premises liability, negligent supervision, and negligent training. The injuries have ranged from wrongful death, severe brain injury, dismemberment, permanent disfigurement, and soft tissue injuries.
Public Entity Defense : Defends both county and cities in a wide range of claims ranging from constitutional law violations, police abuse, false arrest, malicious prosecution, wrongful termination, premises liability, and vehicle negligence. Many of the constitutional and police abuse claims have been litigated in Federal Court. The claims involve damages ranging from wrongful death, bodily injuries, and emotional distress.
Public School District : Provides a wide range of legal services to public school districts ranging from general counsel services, construction disputes, and general liability defense.
Business Services : Provides legal services to various forms of businesses ranging from sole proprietorships to corporations and non-profits. Services have included contract negotiations, advice and counsel for corporate governance and litigation. Litigation services range from prosecution of stock holder disputes, misappropriation of funds, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, products liability, breach of contract claims, breach of partnership agreements, fraud and declaratory relief.
Entertainment Services : Provides counsel and legal services to artists, managers, record companies, television production companies, and film makers. Negotiation or assist in the negotiation and drafting of numerous entertainment agreements. Has litigated copyright trademark, and contract disputes in both Federal and State court.
Consumer Services : Has provided a wide range of legal services to individual and consumers. These services consist of personal injury claims, breach of contract claims, real estate disputes, boundary disputes, and consumer rights.
